Major Projects

Our Mission

The Canadian Percussion Network is focused on research of relevance to today’s percussionist. In recent decades, scholars have made tremendous progress on issues crucial to our work (i.e. instrument acoustics, injury prevention). Andy yet these insights are rarely conveyed in a manner useful to our community. This is unfortunate, as percussionists are well positioned to direct use of insights from their findings.

CPN supports three major projects aiming to practically apply scholarly research to musical contexts.  If you are interested in contributing to work on one of these topics please contact the project leader.
